CompositionTasulin-D Tablet is used to manage moderate to severe urinary symptoms in men with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH, an enlarged prostate). Tamsulosin rapidly relaxes the prostate and bladder neck muscles to improve urine flow, while dutasteride progressively reduces prostate size over several months.
It contains tamsulosin 0.4 mg and dutasteride 0.5 mg. Take it about 30 minutes after the same meal each day. The full prostate-shrinking benefit of dutasteride takes several months, so consistent long-term use is important. Your prostate-specific antigen (PSA) levels may decrease during treatment.
Attending regular prostate check-ups, maintaining normal daily fluid intake, and monitoring urinary symptoms all support BPH management alongside this medicine.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor about any planned eye surgery, particularly cataract operations, as tamsulosin can affect pupil dilation during surgery (a condition called intraoperative floppy iris syndrome). Pregnant women and women who could become pregnant must not handle crushed or broken capsules, as dutasteride is absorbed through the skin and can seriously harm a developing male baby. Tell your doctor about any significant breast changes.
