CompositionSaaz-DS Tablet is used to treat ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s disease, and other forms of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). It contains sulfasalazine, which helps reduce inflammation in the colon, relieve abdominal pain, and control symptoms like diarrhea and rectal bleeding.
This tablet works by reducing inflammation in the body. The medication's active ingredient, sulfasalazine, combines two components: sulfapyridine and 5-aminosalicylic acid (5-ASA). Sulfasalazine is a disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drug (DMARD).
Sulfapyridine is an antibiotic that works by reducing the number of harmful bacteria in the intestines. 5-ASA is an anti-inflammatory medication that blocks the production of inflammatory chemicals called prostaglandins.
While Saaz-Ds Tablet are safe and effective, they may cause side effects in some patients. These side effects are mild and subside on their own as the body responds to the medication.
Patients with certain medical conditions, like liver or kidney disease, blood disorders, or allergies to sulfa drugs, should talk to their healthcare provider before taking Saaz-Ds Tablet.
