Geriflo-D Tablet is used to manage urinary symptoms caused by an enlarged prostate (benign prostatic hyperplasia) in men. The tamsulosin component rapidly relaxes the muscles of the prostate and bladder neck to improve urine flow, while dutasteride gradually shrinks the prostate over time for longer-term relief.
It contains tamsulosin and dutasteride. Take the capsule whole as prescribed at the same time each day. Benefits from prostate size reduction take several months to appear, so consistent use is important.
Keeping a normal daily fluid intake, reducing caffeine and alcohol, and rising slowly from sitting or lying down help alongside this medicine. Your doctor may monitor PSA levels during treatment.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor about any planned eye surgery, particularly cataract surgery, as tamsulosin can affect how the pupil behaves during the procedure. Women who are pregnant or could become pregnant must not handle crushed capsules, as dutasteride can seriously harm a developing male baby. Tell your doctor about any significant breast changes.
