Geriflo-D Tablet is used for the following:

• Managing symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in men: This condition, also known as an enlarged prostate, can lead to uncomfortable urinary symptoms.

• Improving urine flow: Geriflo-D Tablet helps in maintaining a steady and strong urine stream.

• Reducing the frequency of urination at night: The medicine helps in managing nocturia, and the need to urinate frequently during the night.

• Assisting in complete bladder emptying: Reducing the feeling of incomplete bladder emptying, it promotes comfort.

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Refrain from crushing or chewing the tablet.

• Do not stop taking this medicine or change your dose without consulting your doctor first.

Geriflo-D Tablet is taken orally.

Geriflo-D Tablet combines two active ingredients:

• Dutasteride (0.5 mg): This is a type 1 and type 2 5α-reductase inhibitor. It blocks the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT), the primary androgen responsible for prostate growth. By reducing DHT levels, dutasteride helps to shrink the enlarged prostate, leading to improved urinary symptoms.

• Tamsulosin (0.4 mg): This medicine is an α1-adrenergic receptor antagonist. It selectively binds to α1-receptors in various parts of your urinary system such as the prostate, bladder base, bladder neck, prostatic capsule, and prostatic urethra. This leads to relaxation of these muscles, improving urine flow and reducing BPH symptoms.
