Flodart Plus Capsule 10

Flodart Plus Capsule is used to manage the symptoms of an enlarged prostate.

Uses of Flodart Plus Capsule are:

• BPH Symptoms: Relaxes the prostate and bladder muscles to improve urine flow.
• Prostate Size: Gradually reduces the size of the enlarged prostate.
• Urine Flow: Improves flow and reduces frequent and incomplete urination.

Follow these instructions while taking Flodart Plus Capsule:

• Swallow the capsule whole with a glass of water.
• Do not chew or crush the capsule. It should be swallowed whole.
• Take the capsule approximately 30 minutes after the same meal each day.

Flodart Plus Capsule is taken orally.

Flodart Plus Capsule contains two active ingredients which work together to manage the symptoms of BPH:

• Dutasteride (0.5 mg): This compound works by inhibiting an enzyme called 5α-reductase, which is responsible for converting testosterone into dihydrotestosterone (DHT). By lowering DHT levels in the prostate, dutasteride can gradually reduce the size of an enlarged prostate and improve urinary symptoms.
• Tamsulosin (0.4 mg): This ingredient acts by selectively blocking α1-adrenergic receptors located in the smooth muscle tissues of the prostate and the bladder neck. This action relaxes these tissues, thereby reducing resistance to urine flow and relieving obstructive symptoms without affecting bladder contractility.

Together, these two components provide more rapid and pronounced symptomatic relief compared to either drug alone. However, it may take several months for maximum benefits to develop as the prostate gradually decreases in size.
