CTD 12.5 Tablet is used to manage high blood pressure (hypertension) and reduce fluid accumulation (oedema) in adults with heart, kidney, or liver conditions. Controlling blood pressure helps lower the risk of heart attack, stroke, and kidney complications.
It contains chlorthalidone, a diuretic that helps the kidneys remove excess salt and water from the body. Take it with or without food as prescribed, preferably in the morning to prevent frequent nighttime urination. Continue taking it regularly even if you feel well.
Lifestyle measures complement blood pressure control. Maintain a low-salt diet, engage in regular moderate physical activity, keep a healthy body weight, limit alcohol consumption, and avoid smoking as advised by your healthcare provider.
Before taking this medicine, inform your doctor if you have kidney disease, gout, diabetes, liver disorders, or electrolyte imbalances. Report symptoms like severe muscle cramps, marked weakness, or standing dizziness. Regular monitoring of blood pressure and blood electrolytes is recommended.
