RT-O Capsule is used to manage respiratory disorders with excessive thick mucus secretion and serves as auxiliary therapy for respiratory tract infections. It is also used for pulmonary complications of cystic fibrosis, post-operative mucus retention, and atelectasis caused by mucus obstruction. Additionally, the capsule aids in diagnostic bronchial studies to improve mucus clearance.

Taking RT-O Capsule involves the following steps:

• Swallow the capsule whole with a glass of water.
• You can take this medicine with or without food, but taking it with meals might help reduce stomach-related side effects.
• Drink plenty of fluids while on this medication to help loosen mucus and facilitate its expulsion.
• Do not crush, chew or break the capsule. Swallow it whole.
• If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it's close to your next scheduled dose. In that case, skip the missed dose. Do not double your dose to make up for it.

RT-O Capsule is taken orally.

RT-O Capsule contains two active ingredients:

• Acetylcysteine (300 mg): This mucolytic agent reduces mucus viscosity and elasticity. It breaks down the bonds in mucus glycoproteins, leading to thinner and more easily expelled mucus. Besides, acetylcysteine exhibits antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, which may provide additional lung protective benefits.
• Ambroxol (60 mg): Acting as an expectorant and mucokinetic agent, ambroxol stimulates mucus clearance. It increases mucus production in the respiratory tract while also making the mucus less viscous. Furthermore, ambroxol enhances mucus transport by boosting ciliary activity, facilitating easier expectoration. It also exhibits antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and local anaesthetic effects in the respiratory tract.

• Store RT-O Capsule in a cool and dry place.
• Keep the medicine away from direct sunlight and moisture to maintain its quality.
• Always ensure the medicine container is tightly closed after use.
