It is a combination medicine containing telmisartan and amlodipine, and belongs to the classes of angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs) and calcium channel blockers.
Controlling blood pressure helps lower the long-term risk of heart attack and stroke. You can take this medicine with or without food. Take it as prescribed and continue regularly even if you feel well. Use the dose, frequency and duration prescribed by your doctor.
Lifestyle changes help control blood pressure alongside this medicine. These include reducing salt, eating plenty of fruit and vegetables, staying active, keeping to a healthy weight and limiting alcohol.
Tell your doctor if you have kidney or liver problems before starting this medicine, and about any other medicines, supplements or herbal products you take. This medicine is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, so tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding. Your doctor may check your kidney function and potassium levels from time to time. Report any side effects that persist or become serious. Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
