Silotrif D 8 Tablet is used to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), a condition in which an enlarged prostate gland causes difficulty with urination. It helps improve urine flow and reduces bothersome symptoms such as urgency and passing urine frequently at night, and it can help lower the risk of sudden urinary blockage.
It contains silodosin and dutasteride. Silodosin relaxes the muscles of the prostate and bladder neck to improve flow, while dutasteride works over time to reduce the size of the prostate. Take it with a meal as prescribed, and swallow the capsule whole without opening or chewing it.
Continuing the medicine for the full duration advised by your doctor is important, as the prostate-shrinking effect of dutasteride may take several months to reach its full benefit. Rising slowly from sitting or lying down can help reduce dizziness.
Tell your doctor about any liver problems or other medicines you take before starting. Inform your doctor if you are planning cataract or other eye surgery, as this medicine can affect the eye during the procedure. Report marked dizziness, breast tenderness or swelling, or fainting.
