Silocap D Capsule 10

Silocap-D Capsule is used in men to relieve the urinary symptoms of an enlarged prostate, improve urine flow, and reduce the risk of serious urinary complications over time.

Uses of Silocap-D Capsule are:

• Enlarged Prostate (BPH): Treats the symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia in men.
• Urinary Symptom Relief: Helps with difficulty starting urination, frequent urination, and a weak stream.
• Complication Prevention: Helps prevent acute urinary retention and reduces the need for prostate surgery.

• Swallow the capsule whole with a meal. Don't chew, open, or crush it.

• If you miss a dose, don't double up the next time. Just take your normal dose at the regular time.

• Regularly re-evaluate your need for this medicine with your doctor. If symptoms don't improve after six months, you may need to stop using it.

• Always consult your doctor for specific advice on taking this medicine.

Silocap-D Capsule is taken orally.

Silocap-D Capsule consists of following two components:

• Dutasteride (0.5 mg): As a 5-alpha reductase inhibitor, dutasteride plays a crucial role in managing BPH by blocking the conversion of testosterone into dihydrotestosterone (DHT). DHT is primarily responsible for prostate growth. By reducing DHT production, dutasteride helps shrink an enlarged prostate over time.

• Silodosin (8 mg): This ingredient acts as an alpha-1 receptor blocker. It has a high affinity for α1A-adrenergic receptors present in various parts of the urinary system including the prostate and bladder neck. Blocking these receptors leads to relaxation of smooth muscles in these areas, improving urine flow and reducing discomfort related to BPH.

• Store Silocap-D Capsule at room temperature, ideally between 20°C and 25°C.

• Keep it in a tightly closed container to protect from light and moisture.

• Always keep this medicine out of reach of children.

• Make sure to use the capsules before the expiry date indicated on the packaging.

• Focus on a balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins. Foods high in fibre, such as beans, lentils, and leafy greens, can help improve overall health and potentially alleviate symptoms associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).

• Avoiding caffeine and alcohol can also help reduce urinary symptoms, as these substances can irritate the bladder. Practising pelvic floor exercises, also known as Kegel exercises, can strengthen the muscles that support bladder control.
