Pulmonext 5 Tablet is used to treat respiratory conditions such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and other lung-related disorders. It helps in relieving symptoms like shortness of breath, wheezing, and chest tightness by reducing inflammation and opening up the airways, making it easier to breathe.

Follow these instructions while taking Pulmonext 5 Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet as a whole with a glass of water.
• Do not split, crush or chew the tablet.
• It is important not to stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor first.

Pulmonext 5 Tablet is taken orally.

Pulmonext 5 Tablet contains Ambrisentan (5 mg). Its mechanisms of action are:

• ETA Receptor Blockage: Ambrisentan works by binding to and blocking the endothelin type A (ETA) receptor found in your lungs and other tissues. This receptor plays a crucial role in the development and progression of PAH.
• Prevention of ET-1 Binding: By blocking the ETA receptor, Ambrisentan prevents the binding of endothelin-1, a substance that causes blood vessels to narrow. This leads to the widening of blood vessels (vasodilation) and reduced blood pressure in the pulmonary arteries.
• Selective Action: Ambrisentan selectively targets the ETA receptor more than the endothelin type B receptor. This selectivity helps to optimise the beneficial effects on lung blood vessels while minimising potential side effects.

• Maintain Room Temperature: Store Pulmonext 5 Tablet at a room temperature below 25°C.
• Away from Moisture: Keep it in the original packaging to guard against moisture.
• Light Protection: Shield it from direct light.
• Child Safety: Always keep it out of children's reach.
• Expiry Awareness: Use Pulmonext 5 Tablet before its expiry date.

• Regular Exercise: Engaging in regular, gentle exercise such as walking can help improve your capacity to perform physical activities, which is an important aspect when managing PAH.
• Reduced Salt Intake: Aim to limit your salt intake as high sodium levels can increase blood pressure, which can exacerbate symptoms of PAH.
