Empaone 25 Tablet is used to manage type 2 diabetes by lowering blood sugar levels. It contains empagliflozin, an SGLT2 inhibitor, which helps remove excess glucose through the urine and may also support heart health and weight management as part of overall diabetes care.
Empagliflozin works by blocking SGLT2, a protein in the kidney that normally reabsorbs glucose back into the blood, so more glucose is passed out in the urine instead, which lowers blood sugar and can also reduce the risk of cardiovascular death in people with type 2 diabetes and heart disease.
Take this tablet as prescribed in the morning, with or without food, exactly as your doctor prescribes, and drink enough fluids through the day, since this medicine increases how much you urinate.
Tell your doctor immediately if you notice deep, laboured breathing, nausea, vomiting or unusual tiredness even when your blood sugar reading is not very high, as this can be a sign of a rare but serious condition called diabetic ketoacidosis. Report any burning on passing urine or genital itching promptly, as this medicine increases the risk of urinary and genital yeast infections, and maintain good hygiene in the genital area.
