CompositionSacutan 100 Tablet is used to help manage chronic heart failure in adults with a weak heart muscle, reducing the risk of hospital admission and death from cardiovascular causes. It helps the heart pump more effectively, eases breathlessness and reduces ankle swelling.
It combines sacubitril and valsartan, a class of medicines called angiotensin receptor-neprilysin inhibitors (ARNIs). Take it as prescribed, with or without food. If you are switching from an ACE inhibitor, a gap of at least 36 hours is essential before starting this medicine to avoid a serious reaction. Do not stop taking it suddenly without your doctor's advice.
Reducing salt in your diet, keeping fluid intake within your doctor's guidance, weighing yourself daily as advised, gentle activity and monitoring for ankle swelling support your treatment alongside this medicine.
Tell your doctor about any kidney problems, raised potassium levels or a history of angioedema (sudden swelling under the skin) before starting, and about other medicines you take. Do not use it together with an ACE inhibitor. Report marked dizziness or fainting, worsening ankle swelling, reduced urine output, or swelling of the face, lips or tongue.
