CompositionMaxvoid Plus-8 Tablet is used in men to relieve the urinary symptoms of an enlarged prostate (benign prostatic hyperplasia), improving urine flow and reducing urgency and frequency, and shrinking the prostate over time.
It combines silodosin, an alpha-blocker that relaxes the muscle around the prostate and bladder neck, and dutasteride, which gradually shrinks the prostate. The shrinking effect can take several months.
Take it as prescribed, and continue it even after symptoms improve. Rise slowly from sitting or lying down.
If you are due to have cataract or other eye surgery, tell your eye surgeon you take this medicine, as it can affect the pupil. Women who are or may become pregnant must not handle leaking or broken tablets, as dutasteride can harm a male baby. It affects the PSA blood test, so tell any doctor arranging it.
