CompositionMaxvoid Plus-8 Tablet is used to relieve the urinary symptoms of an enlarged prostate (benign prostatic hyperplasia) in men. It is a combination medicine containing silodosin (an alpha-blocker) and dutasteride (a 5-alpha reductase inhibitor).
It improves urine flow, reduces urgency and frequency, and gradually shrinks the prostate, which can take several months. Take it in the dose, frequency and duration prescribed by your doctor, and continue it even after your symptoms improve.
Rise slowly from sitting or lying down, and cut down on tea, coffee and alcohol.
Before starting, tell your doctor about your medical history and about all other medicines, supplements or herbal products you take. Tell your eye surgeon you take this medicine before cataract or other eye surgery, as it can affect the pupil. Women who are or may become pregnant must not handle leaking or broken tablets, as dutasteride can harm a male baby. It affects the PSA blood test, so tell any doctor arranging it. Follow the prescribed dose, frequency and duration, report persistent or serious side effects, and do not stop the medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
