Silofast D 8 Capsule 20 is used to manage the symptoms of an enlarged prostate, a condition known as benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), in adult men. It helps relieve urinary symptoms such as a weak stream, difficulty passing urine and the frequent urge to urinate.
It combines two medicines: an alpha-blocker, which relaxes the muscles of the prostate and bladder neck to ease urine flow, and a 5-alpha reductase inhibitor, which helps shrink the prostate over time. Take the capsule as prescribed. Swallow it whole; do not crush or chew it.
Rising slowly from sitting or lying down helps reduce dizziness alongside this medicine, especially when you first start it. Limiting fluids in the late evening may help reduce night-time urination.
Tell your doctor about any low blood pressure, liver problems, or planned cataract or eye surgery before starting, and about other medicines you take. This medicine is for use in men only and should not be handled by women who are or may become pregnant.
