Tofadoz 5 Tablet 10

Tofadoz Tablet is used for the following:

• Management of moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis in adults who have shown an inadequate response or intolerance to methotrexate.

• Control of active psoriatic arthritis in adults.

• Management of moderately to severely active ulcerative colitis in adults who have shown insufficient response or intolerance to tumor necrosis factor (TNF) blockers.

Here are some instructions to follow while taking Tofadoz Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Do not crush or chew the tablet.

• The tablet can be taken with or without food.

• Always follow the dosage directed by your doctor.

Tofadoz Tablet is taken orally.

Tofadoz Tablet contains tofacitinib (5 mg), which works in the body as follows:

• JAK Inhibition: Tofacitinib selectively inhibits Janus kinase (JAK) enzymes, specifically JAK1 and JAK3, to a lesser extent JAK2, and minimally TYK2. These enzymes play a key role inside our cells, transmitting signals from growth factors or cytokines that interact with their receptors on the cell membrane.

• Modulation of Immune Response: By inhibiting the action of these JAK enzymes, Tofadoz Tablet interrupts the JAK-STAT signaling pathway. This pathway is crucial for transmitting information from chemical signals outside the cell, through the cell membrane, and into the cell's DNA. In doing so, Tofadoz Tablet modulates the immune response underlying rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, and ulcerative colitis.

• Keep Tofadoz Tablet in a cool place where the temperature stays below 30°C.

• Shield the medicine from light and moisture to maintain its effectiveness.

• Always ensure the medicine is out of reach and sight of children.

• Use Tofadoz Tablet before the expiry date printed on the pack.

• If you have rheumatoid arthritis or psoriatic arthritis, eating a balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and whole grains can help manage inflammation.

• Regular low-impact exercises such as swimming or cycling can help maintain joint flexibility and muscle strength, which is beneficial for conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, and ulcerative colitis.
