Macitent Tablet is used to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH), a condition where high blood pressure affects the arteries in the lungs. It helps lower blood pressure, reduces the strain on the heart, and improves exercise ability and quality of life for individuals with PAH.

Macitent Tablet is taken orally.

Macitent Tablet contains macitentan (10 mg) and works in your body in the following ways:

• Blocks endothelin-1: Macitentan blocks the effects of a naturally occurring substance in your body called endothelin-1, which causes blood vessels to narrow and raises blood pressure.
• Promotes vasodilation: By blocking the receptors of endothelin-1, macitentan promotes vasodilation, which is the widening of your blood vessels, helping reduce the blood pressure in your pulmonary arteries.
• Reduces cell proliferation: Macitentan also reduces the multiplication of cells in the pulmonary arteries, leading to a decrease in pulmonary vascular resistance and subsequently lowering the pressure in your pulmonary arteries.

• Store Macitent Tablet in a cool and dry place, ideally below 30°C.
• Keep this medicine out of reach of children and pets.
• Do not expose Macitent Tablet to direct sunlight, heat or moisture.
• Always remember to use the medicine before its expiry date.

• Engage in regular physical activity like walking or stretching as it can help improve your circulation, reducing strain on your heart.
