Pantop-D SR Capsule is a medicine used to treat acid-related stomach conditions including gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GERD), peptic ulcers, gastritis, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, and indigestion. It also helps relieve nausea and vomiting associated with these conditions.
It contains pantoprazole, a proton pump inhibitor that reduces stomach acid, and domperidone, which helps the stomach empty more effectively. Take it as prescribed by your doctor, usually on an empty stomach before meals. Swallow the capsule whole; do not crush or chew it. Continue taking it for the full course advised, even if symptoms improve.
Certain lifestyle changes support treatment alongside this medicine. These include eating smaller meals, avoiding spicy, fatty, or acidic foods, limiting caffeine and alcohol, and not lying down for at least two hours after eating. Avoiding late-night meals and quitting smoking can also help manage acid-related symptoms.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have any liver problems, low magnesium levels, or are taking other medicines that may interact, such as certain antifungals or blood thinners. Long-term use may affect magnesium and vitamin B12 levels; your doctor may monitor these periodically. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should seek medical advice before use.
