CompositionMontina-FX Tablet is used to relieve symptoms of allergic rhinitis, such as sneezing, a runny or blocked nose, and itchy, watery eyes. It is a combination medicine containing montelukast, a leukotriene receptor antagonist, and fexofenadine, an antihistamine (anti-allergic).
This medicine is also used to manage chronic urticaria (long-lasting hives), which causes itchy, raised red patches on the skin. It can be taken with or without food, but avoid taking it with fruit juices such as orange, apple or grapefruit juice, as these can reduce how well it is absorbed. Take it at the same time each day, in the dose prescribed by your doctor.
Avoiding known triggers such as dust, pollen and pet dander, keeping windows closed during high-pollen periods, and washing bedding regularly can help reduce allergy symptoms.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have kidney or liver disease, or a history of depression or other mental health problems, and about any other medicines you take. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Contact your doctor straight away if you notice changes in mood or behaviour, such as agitation, sleep problems, low mood or unusual thoughts. Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
