Telvas-CT 40 Tablet is a combination medicine used to manage high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults when blood pressure is not adequately controlled by a single medication.
It contains telmisartan, an angiotensin II receptor blocker, and chlorthalidone, a diuretic (water pill) that helps remove excess salt and water from the body. Take the tablet with water as prescribed, preferably in the morning to avoid night-time urination. Continue taking it regularly even if you feel well, as stopping suddenly can cause blood pressure to rise.
Adopting healthy lifestyle habits is essential for effective blood pressure management. This includes reducing dietary salt, maintaining a healthy body weight, exercising regularly, avoiding smoking, and limiting alcohol intake as recommended by your doctor.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have kidney or liver problems, electrolyte imbalances, gout, or diabetes. It is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Your doctor may check your kidney function and blood electrolyte levels (such as potassium and sodium) regularly during treatment.
