Amlosafe-AT Tablet is a medicine used to manage high blood pressure (hypertension) and to reduce the risk of heart-related chest pain (angina). It helps lower blood pressure and eases the workload on the heart, protecting against heart attacks and strokes in adults.
It contains amlodipine and atenolol, which work together to relax blood vessels and slow the heart rate. Take this medicine with or without food as prescribed by your doctor. Continue taking it regularly even if you feel well, as high blood pressure often has no symptoms. Do not stop taking it suddenly, as doing so may cause a sudden surge in blood pressure or heart rate.
Lifestyle changes support better blood pressure control alongside medication. These include eating a low-salt diet, exercising regularly, keeping a healthy weight, avoiding smoking, and limiting alcohol intake as recommended by your doctor.
Before starting this medicine, tell your doctor if you have asthma, diabetes, heart rhythm disorders, or liver or kidney problems. It is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Tell your doctor promptly if you develop severe dizziness, slow heart rate, or shortness of breath.
