CompositionSACUMADA 50 Tablet is used to treat chronic heart failure in adults whose heart muscle is weakened and cannot pump enough blood. It combines sacubitril, a neprilysin inhibitor, with valsartan, an angiotensin receptor blocker.
Sacubitril increases levels of natural substances that help the body remove excess salt and water and relax blood vessels, while valsartan blocks angiotensin II, a hormone that narrows blood vessels, and together they help improve heart function, ease symptoms such as breathlessness and tiredness, and reduce the risk of hospital admission.
Take this tablet as prescribed, with or without food, exactly as your doctor prescribes, and your doctor will usually start you on a low dose and increase it gradually as your body adjusts.
Do not take this medicine together with an ACE inhibitor, and leave a gap of at least 36 hours if switching between them, due to a risk of serious swelling (angioedema). Tell your doctor if you have kidney or liver problems, and have your blood pressure and blood potassium checked periodically, since this medicine can lower blood pressure and raise potassium levels.
