FOLOUP CV 200 Tablet is an antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections of the respiratory tract, urinary tract and skin in adults. It combines cefpodoxime, a cephalosporin antibiotic, with clavulanic acid, which helps overcome resistance in certain bacteria.
Cefpodoxime works by stopping bacteria from building their protective cell wall, which kills the bacteria, while clavulanic acid blocks an enzyme that some bacteria use to destroy cefpodoxime, extending its effectiveness against resistant strains.
Take this tablet with food at evenly spaced intervals, exactly as your doctor prescribes, and complete the full course even if you start to feel better, since stopping early can allow the infection to return and encourages antibiotic resistance.
Tell your doctor if you have a known allergy to penicillins or cephalosporins, as cross-reaction can occur. Report persistent loose motions (diarrhoea), as this can occasionally indicate a more serious antibiotic-related bowel condition that needs medical review.
