Cefpo CV 200/125mg Tablet is an antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections of the airways, urinary tract, and skin in adults. It contains cefpodoxime and clavulanic acid, and belongs to the class of cephalosporin antibiotic with a beta-lactamase inhibitor.
Cefpodoxime is a cephalosporin antibiotic that stops bacteria building their cell wall, while clavulanic acid protects the antibiotic from being broken down by resistant bacteria, together making it particularly useful for infections caused by bacteria that have become resistant to ordinary antibiotics.
Take it at the start of a meal as directed to improve absorption and reduce stomach upset. Get adequate rest, stay well hydrated, and complete the full course even if you begin to feel better, to help the infection clear and reduce the risk of resistance.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor about any allergy to penicillin or cephalosporin antibiotics, or any liver or kidney problems. If you develop severe loose motions, a skin rash, or signs of an allergic reaction, contact your doctor right away.
