Orofer Xt Tablet 30

Orofer XT Tablet is used in the management of the following:

• Iron deficiency anaemia: This medication is primarily used to treat and prevent iron deficiency anaemia. It helps increase the levels of haemoglobin in the blood, improving oxygen transport throughout the body.
• Pregnancy: This medication is often prescribed to pregnant women to ensure they have adequate iron and folic acid levels, which are crucial for the proper development of the foetus and to prevent birth defects.
• Iron and folic acid supplementation: It may also be used to supplement iron and folic acid in individuals with dietary deficiencies or conditions that require additional nutritional support.

• Take Orofer XT Tablet with or without food as your doctor advises.
• Swallow it as a whole with a glass of water.
• Do not crush, chew, or break the tablet.

Orofer XT Tablet is taken orally.

Orofer XT Tablet contains the following components: 

• Ferrous ascorbate (100 mg): It combines ferrous iron and ascorbic acid (vitamin C). Ferrous iron is readily absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract and is essential for producing haemoglobin, the oxygen-carrying molecule in red blood cells. Ascorbic acid enhances iron absorption by reducing it to a more absorbable form and also plays a role in collagen formation, wound healing, and overall immunity.
• Folic acid (1.5 mg): It is also known as vitamin B9 and is crucial for the synthesis and repair of DNA and RNA. It plays a vital role in cell division and growth, making it essential to produce red blood cells. Folic acid is particularly important during pregnancy to prevent neural tube defects in the developing foetus.

• Store it at room temperature (15-25ºC).
• Protect the medication from light and moisture.
• Keep it out of reach of children.
• Do not use the medicine after the expiry date mentioned on the packaging.

• Consume a well-balanced diet rich in iron and folic acid. Include dark green leafy vegetables, lean meats, legumes, and fortified cereals.
• Avoid excessive consumption of caffeine, as it can interfere with iron absorption.
• Practise good sleep hygiene and ensure an adequate amount of sleep each night.
• Engage in regular physical activity, as it can help improve blood circulation and boost energy levels.
• Limit alcohol consumption, as excessive alcohol intake can impair iron absorption.
• Quit smoking, as smoking can interfere with the body's ability to absorb and utilise iron
