Contraindications

• It is contraindicated in patients with a history of allergy to Cefpodoxime Proxetil, Clavulanic Acid or other cephalosporin antibiotics.

Other Medications to Avoid

• Avoid taking anticoagulants (warfarin), antacids containing sodium bicarbonate or aluminium hydroxide, antigout medications (probenecid), and other antibiotics with this medicine. These medications may alter the safety and effectiveness of Cefpodoxime Proxetil and Clavulanic Acid.

Overdose and Missed Dose

• Overdose of this combination can cause nausea, vomiting, abdominal discomfort and diarrhoea. These symptoms need to be managed as an emergency in a hospital setting. Therefore, strict adherence to the prescribed dose is essential.
• If you forget to take this medicine, take it as soon as you remember. But avoid repeating the dose.

• Incorporate probiotics into your diet, as they help restore gut flora, which may be disrupted by antibiotic treatment, leading to digestive issues like diarrhoea or bloating.
• Strictly follow the prescribed dosage and schedule. Do not miss doses or stop treatment prematurely, even if you feel better. Stopping too soon may lead to antibiotic resistance, increasing the risk of infection recurrence and making future treatment more challenging.
