Silodal-D 8 Capsule is used to manage the urinary symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in men, such as a weak stream, difficulty starting urination, incomplete bladder emptying and frequent night-time urination. It is a combination medicine containing silodosin (an alpha-1A blocker) and dutasteride (a 5-alpha-reductase inhibitor).
It gives relief from urinary symptoms and shrinks the prostate over time. Take it after meals in the dose, frequency and duration prescribed by your doctor, and continue it regularly even if your symptoms improve.
Limit tea, coffee and fizzy drinks, avoid large drinks late in the evening and pass urine at regular intervals. Keep to follow-up visits and PSA monitoring.
Before starting, tell your doctor if you have liver, kidney or heart disease, and about all other medicines, supplements or herbal products you take. Women who are or may become pregnant must not handle broken or leaking capsules, as dutasteride can harm an unborn baby. Report prostate changes or breast changes promptly. Follow the prescribed dose, frequency and duration, report persistent or serious side effects, and do not stop the medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
