Febutaz 40 Tablet is used to lower high uric acid levels in people with gout. It contains febuxostat, a medicine that reduces the amount of uric acid the body makes, helping prevent the build-up of uric acid crystals in the joints.
By keeping uric acid down, it helps reduce gout attacks, joint pain, swelling, and stiffness, and protects against long-term joint damage. It is taken by mouth as prescribed, and is usually continued even when you have no symptoms.
Drinking plenty of water and limiting alcohol and purine-rich foods support treatment, as these can affect uric acid levels.
Before starting, tell your doctor about any liver, kidney, or heart problems. Continue the treatment for as long as advised to prevent gout symptoms returning.
