CompositionMesacol OD 1200 Tablet is used to manage active ulcerative colitis and Crohn's ileocolitis in adults. It reduces inflammation in the bowel, controls symptoms such as loose motions, abdominal pain and rectal bleeding, and helps maintain remission.
It contains mesalazine in a prolonged-release form designed to release the medicine in the affected part of the bowel. It works by reducing inflammation in the bowel lining.
Take it as prescribed, and continue even if symptoms improve, to maintain remission.
Tell your doctor about any kidney or liver problems or aspirin allergy before starting. Report any kidney symptoms, severe stomach pain or blood in stools. Regular kidney checks may be needed with long-term use.
