Gemer 1 Tablet is used to manage type 2 diabetes in adults when blood sugar cannot be controlled adequately by diet, exercise, or a single medicine.
It contains glimepiride 1 mg and metformin. Glimepiride stimulates insulin release from the pancreas while metformin improves insulin sensitivity and reduces glucose production by the liver. Take it with food as prescribed. Do not skip meals.
Diet and lifestyle remain important alongside this medicine. Regular balanced meals, controlled carbohydrate intake, staying active, and maintaining a healthy weight all help keep blood sugar under control.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor about any kidney or liver problems, or if you drink alcohol regularly. Seek immediate medical attention if you develop unusual muscle pain, difficulty breathing, stomach pain, or severe weakness, as these can be signs of a rare but serious condition called lactic acidosis (a build-up of lactic acid in the blood). Always carry a fast-acting glucose source. Speak to your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding.
