Prostagard 8 Capsule treats symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), such as difficulty urinating and frequent urination. It helps relax the muscles of the prostate and bladder neck, improving urine flow and easing symptoms.

Here's how you should take Prostagard 8 Capsule:

• Swallow the capsule whole with water.
• Do not chew or crush the capsule.
• Take this medicine as per your doctor's advice and not more than that.
• If you have difficulty swallowing capsules, open it carefully and mix the powder with a spoonful of applesauce. Swallow immediately without chewing, followed by a glass of cool water.

Prostagard 8 Capsule contains Silodosin (8 mg), which operates in your body in the following ways:

• Alpha-1A Receptor Blockage: Silodosin works by binding selectively to alpha-1A receptors found in high density in your prostate, prostatic capsule, prostatic urethra, and bladder neck.
• Relaxation of Smooth Muscles: By blocking these receptors, silodosin allows the smooth muscles in these areas to relax. This action improves urine flow and reduces symptoms of BPH.
• Selective Affinity: Silodosin has a higher affinity for alpha-1A subtype receptors than for alpha-1B subtype receptors. This selectivity may help reduce blood pressure-related side effects associated with this class of medicines.

Store Prostagard 8 Capsule at a temperature of 20°C to 25°C (68°F to 77°F), with acceptable variations between 15°C to 30°C (59°F to 86°F).

• Keep the container tightly closed, protecting it from light and moisture.
• Always keep Prostagard out of the reach of children.
• Ensure you use the medicine before its expiry date.
