Prostagard 8 Capsule is used to manage the symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), a common condition where the prostate gland becomes enlarged. It relieves urinary symptoms such as a weak stream, difficulty starting urination, and a frequent need to urinate, especially at night.
It contains silodosin, which relaxes the muscles in the prostate and the neck of the bladder to allow easier urine flow and more complete bladder emptying. Take it with a meal, as prescribed, to help with absorption and reduce the chance of dizziness. Continue taking it regularly to maintain symptom control.
Limiting fluids in the evening, reducing caffeine and alcohol intake, and avoiding sitting for long periods can help ease urinary symptoms alongside this medicine.
Before starting, tell your doctor if you have severe kidney or liver problems, or if you are planning to undergo cataract surgery, as this medicine can affect the eyes during the procedure. Contact your doctor if you feel dizzy or lightheaded on standing.
