CompositionAlphacept 8 Tablet is used to manage symptoms of an enlarged prostate. It is a single-ingredient alpha-blocker medicine containing silodosin.
This medicine eases difficulty in starting urination and improves weak urine flow. It also reduces frequent night-time urination and helps control urgency and dribbling. Take it with food in the dose, frequency and duration prescribed by your doctor. Continue it even when you feel better, as symptoms can return if it is stopped.
Cutting down on tea, coffee and other fluids in the evening can reduce night-time trips to pass urine. Avoid holding urine for long periods, and rise slowly from a sitting or lying position to reduce the chance of dizziness.
Before starting, tell your doctor if you have low blood pressure, or kidney or liver problems, and about all other medicines, supplements or herbal products you take. Tell your eye surgeon that you take this medicine if you are planning cataract surgery. Report fainting or persistent dizziness. Follow the prescribed dose, frequency and duration, report persistent or serious side effects, and do not stop the medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
