CompositionHakosil 8 Mg Capsule 10 is a prostate medicine used to manage the urinary symptoms of an enlarged prostate, a non-cancerous condition known as benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), in men. It is a single-ingredient medicine containing silodosin, and belongs to a class of medicines called alpha-blockers.
This medicine works by relaxing the muscles in the prostate and bladder neck, which eases the passage of urine and helps with a weak flow, difficulty starting, urgency and passing urine at night. Take it with the same meal each day, swallow the capsule whole, and use the dose and duration your doctor prescribes.
Rising slowly from sitting or lying down helps reduce dizziness, especially when you first start the medicine. Reducing fluids in the late evening may help with night-time urination.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have low blood pressure, liver or kidney problems, or are planning cataract or other eye surgery, as it can cause floppy iris syndrome during the operation. Report fainting or marked dizziness, as this medicine can cause a sudden drop in blood pressure on standing.
