Fastclav 500 Tablet is used to treat bacterial infections such as acute middle ear infections, sinusitis, flare-ups of chronic bronchitis, and uncomplicated skin and urinary tract infections. It is also effective in treating early stages of Lyme disease. The tablet works by stopping bacterial growth and helping the body recover from infection.

• Swallow the entire tablet without crushing or breaking it. 
• Take it with or without food, but it is recommended at a fixed daily time for better results.

Fastclav 500 Tablet is taken orally. 

Fastclav 500 Tablet contains the following components:

• Cefuroxime (500 mg): This is the antibiotic component. It interferes with the growth of bacteria by disrupting their cell walls. Bacterial cells have rigid walls to maintain their structure, and Cefuroxime weakens these walls. As a result, the bacteria become vulnerable and are eventually destroyed by the immune system.
• Clavulanic Acid (125 mg): It's a beta-lactamase inhibitor. Bacteria sometimes produce enzymes called beta-lactamases that can neutralise antibiotics like cefuroxime. Clavulanic Acid prevents these enzymes from working, allowing Cefuroxime to remain effective against a broader range of bacteria.
• The pairing of cefuroxime with clavulanic acid, a β-lactamase inhibitor, offers a remedy for treating bacterial infections caused by pathogens resistant to beta-lactam antibiotics.

The storage instructions for the Fastclav 500 Tablet are as follows:

• Fastclav 500 Tablet should be stored at room temperature, at 25°C.
• Please protect it from light and moisture.
• Keep away from children.
• Do not use this medicine after the expiry date has passed.

• Avoid foods high in calcium, grapefruit, and grapefruit juice, as they may interfere with antibiotic absorption. Stick to your treatment plan for better results.
• Avoid alcohol during your antibiotic course to ensure its effectiveness.
• Avoid tobacco products, as they can hamper your overall health and slow healing.
• Since antibiotics can disrupt beneficial gut bacteria, consider incorporating probiotic-rich foods into your diet. Options like yoghurt or curd, kefir, sauerkraut, tempeh, kimchi, miso, kombucha, buttermilk, natto, and cheese can help revive a healthy balance in your digestive system.
