Forcef-CV 500 Tablet is a combination antibiotic medicine used to treat bacterial infections of the lungs (pneumonia, bronchitis), ear, nose, throat, sinuses, urinary tract, skin, and soft tissues.
It contains cefuroxime (a cephalosporin antibiotic) and clavulanic acid (a beta-lactamase inhibitor). Clavulanic acid prevents bacteria from breaking down cefuroxime, making the treatment effective against beta-lactamase-producing bacteria. Take this tablet with food to improve absorption and reduce stomach upset.
Complete the entire prescribed duration of treatment even if your symptoms clear up, as stopping early can lead to infection relapse or antibiotic resistance. Maintain adequate hydration during treatment.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have a history of kidney disease, severe allergies to penicillin or cephalosporins, or liver conditions. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding before starting this medication.
