Milcef CV 500 Tablet is used to treat bacterial infections affecting the lungs, throat, ears, urinary tract and skin, helping clear the infection and relieve symptoms such as fever and pain.
It contains cefuroxime, a cephalosporin antibiotic, combined with clavulanic acid, which helps stop bacteria from breaking down the antibiotic. Take it with food as prescribed. Complete the full course even if you start to feel better, as stopping early can allow the infection to return or become resistant to treatment.
Staying well hydrated and taking the tablet at evenly spaced intervals helps maintain a steady level of the antibiotic in your body, which is important for it to work effectively. Eating yoghurt or a probiotic supplement may help reduce stomach upset associated with antibiotic use.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have kidney problems or are allergic to penicillin or cephalosporin antibiotics. Report any severe diarrhoea, skin rash or breathing difficulty, as these may be signs of an allergic reaction.
