Tamlocept 0.4 Capsule 15 is used to relieve the urinary symptoms of an enlarged prostate (benign prostatic hyperplasia) in men, easing difficulty starting to urinate, a weak stream, and frequent or night-time urination.
It contains tamsulosin, an alpha-blocker, in a prolonged-release form. It works by relaxing the muscle in the prostate and bladder neck, which lets urine flow more easily.
Take it after the same meal each day, swallowing the capsule whole without crushing or chewing it. Some improvement may take a few weeks. It can lower blood pressure, so rise slowly.
If you are due to have cataract or other eye surgery, tell your eye surgeon you take this medicine, as it can affect the pupil during the operation. Tell your doctor about any low blood pressure or liver problems, and about erectile-dysfunction medicines. Report fainting or marked dizziness on standing.
