CompositionTamlocept 0.4 Capsule is used to relieve the urinary symptoms of an enlarged prostate (benign prostatic hyperplasia, BPH) in men. It is a single-ingredient alpha-blocker containing tamsulosin in a prolonged-release form.
It eases difficulty starting to pass urine, a weak stream, and frequent or night-time urination. Take it after the same meal, swallowing the capsule whole, in the dose, frequency and duration prescribed by your doctor. Some improvement may take a few weeks.
Limit tea, coffee and other fluids in the evening and avoid holding urine for long. As the medicine can lower blood pressure, rise slowly from sitting or lying down.
Before starting, tell your doctor if you have low blood pressure or liver problems and about all other medicines, supplements or herbal products you take, including erectile dysfunction medicines. Tell your eye surgeon that you take this medicine before cataract or other eye surgery, as it can affect the pupil. Report fainting or marked dizziness on standing. Follow the prescribed dose, frequency and duration, report persistent or serious side effects, and do not stop the medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
