Tamsin 0.4mg Tablet 15 is a medicine used in adult men to manage the lower urinary tract symptoms of an enlarged prostate, known as benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).
It contains tamsulosin in a prolonged-release formulation, an alpha-blocker that relaxes the smooth muscles of the prostate gland and bladder neck to facilitate easier urine flow. Take it whole with water after the same meal each day as prescribed. Do not crush or chew the prolonged-release tablet.
Lifestyle measures such as reducing liquid intake before bedtime, limiting caffeine and alcohol, and avoiding holding urine can help manage urinary symptoms effectively.
Before taking this medicine, inform your doctor if you have low blood pressure, liver impairment, or are scheduled for cataract or glaucoma eye surgery. As it may cause postural dizziness, rise slowly from sitting or lying down.
