Flokind 0.4 Tablet is a medicine used to treat the urinary symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in adult men. It helps ease difficulty starting urination, weak urine stream, and frequent night-time urination, though it does not shrink the prostate.
It contains tamsulosin, an alpha-adrenoreceptor blocker. Take it as prescribed, usually after the same meal each day. Swallow the tablet whole without crushing or chewing it. Continue taking it as recommended by your doctor.
Lifestyle measures that help support urinary health include limiting fluid intake before bedtime, reducing caffeine and alcohol consumption, and avoiding sudden delays when needing to pass urine.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have severe kidney or liver problems or low blood pressure. Inform your eye doctor that you take this medicine if you are scheduled for cataract surgery.
