CompositionTamdosin D Tablet 15 is used to ease the urinary symptoms of an enlarged prostate gland, known as benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), in men. It improves urine flow and reduces urgency, frequency and night-time urination, while shrinking the prostate over time.
It combines tamsulosin, an alpha-blocker, and dutasteride, a 5-alpha reductase inhibitor. Take it about 30 minutes after the same meal each day, and swallow the capsule whole without crushing, chewing or opening it. Continue as prescribed even if symptoms improve, as the prostate-shrinking effect builds up over several months.
Reducing fluids in the evening and going to the toilet at regular times can help manage urinary symptoms alongside this medicine. Limiting caffeine and alcohol may also ease bladder irritation.
Tell your doctor if you have liver problems or are due to have eye surgery for cataracts or glaucoma. Women who are or may become pregnant should not handle the capsules, as the contents may be absorbed through the skin. Tell your doctor promptly about breast lumps, nipple discharge, or worsening urinary symptoms.
