Amlip 5 Tablet 10

Amlip-5 Tablet is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and prevent chest pain (angina). It contains Amlodipine, a calcium channel blocker that relaxes blood vessels, improving blood flow and reducing the frequency of chest pain while helping lower blood pressure.

• Swallow the Amlip 5 MG Tablet whole with a glass of water.
• Do not crush or chew the Amlip 5 MG Tablet, as this may affect the way the medication is absorbed in the body.
• Take the Amlip 5 MG Tablet at fixed times each day to maintain a consistent level of medication. 
• Do not change your Amlip 5 MG Tablet dose or take them more often than prescribed.

Amlip 5 MG Tablets should be administered orally.

Amlodipine, the active ingredient in Amlip 5 MG Tablet, belongs to a class of medications known as calcium channel blockers. Amlodipine works by blocking the entry of calcium ions into the smooth muscle cells of the blood vessels and heart, which leads to the following effects:

• Blood pressure reduction: Amlodipine lowers blood pressure by dilating (widening) the blood vessels, allowing smoother blood flow. Relaxing and widening the arteries reduces the resistance against which the heart pumps, thus decreasing blood pressure.
• Prevention of coronary artery spasms: Amlodipine prevents and relieves spasms in the coronary arteries, which are the blood vessels that supply oxygen and nutrients to the heart muscle. Reducing coronary artery spasms helps alleviate chest pain (angina) and improve blood flow to the heart.
• Improved blood supply to the heart: Amlodipine enhances blood supply to the heart muscle by dilating the coronary arteries, promoting better oxygen and nutrient delivery. It benefits individuals with coronary artery disease or those at risk of heart-related complications.

• Store this medicine at a temperature below 30 ºC.
• Protect it from light and moisture.
• Keep Amlip 5 MG Tablet away from children.
• Do not use this medicine after the expiry date has passed.

• Limit your salt intake to less than 5 gm daily.
• Avoid high-sodium foods, as excessive sodium intake can contribute to high blood pressure.
• Reduce your intake of saturated and trans fats in fried foods, fatty meats, full-fat dairy products, and commercially baked goods. These fats can contribute to cholesterol levels and increase the risk of heart disease.
• Practice portion control to manage calorie intake and maintain a healthy weight. Use smaller plates and pay attention to hunger and fullness cues.
• Include potassium-rich foods such as bananas, oranges, spinach, avocados, and sweet potatoes. Potassium helps counteract the effects of sodium and can help lower blood pressure.
• Focus on a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins (such as fish, poultry, and legumes), and healthy fats (like olive oil and nuts). It helps maintain a healthy weight and supports overall cardiovascular health.
• Aim for gradual, sustainable weight loss through a healthy diet and regular exercise. Losing weight can help reduce blood pressure and improve overall heart health. 
• Quit Smoking is essential for managing hypertension and angina. Smoking damages blood vessels and contributes to the development and progression of heart disease.
• Drink alcohol in moderation or as advised by your doctor. Excessive alcohol intake can raise blood pressure and increase the risk of heart-related complications.
