Valentas 100 Tablet is used to treat chronic heart failure with reduced ejection fraction in adults, helping the heart pump blood more efficiently and reducing the strain on the heart. It helps lower the risk of hospitalisation and death related to heart failure.
It contains sacubitril and valsartan, a combination medicine known as an angiotensin receptor neprilysin inhibitor (ARNI). Take it as prescribed, with or without food. Continue taking this medicine even if you feel well, as heart failure needs ongoing treatment, and do not stop it suddenly without speaking to your doctor.
Limiting salt intake, weighing yourself regularly to check for fluid build-up, staying physically active as advised by your doctor, and keeping other conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure well controlled can all help manage heart failure alongside this medicine.
Before starting this medicine, tell your doctor if you have kidney or liver problems, are taking an ACE inhibitor (a gap of at least 36 hours is needed when switching), or have low blood pressure. Report swelling of the face, lips or tongue, a persistent cough, dizziness, or reduced urine output. This medicine is not suitable during pregnancy.
