Pantop It Capsule 10 is used to manage GERD by reducing excess stomach acid and preventing acid backflow into the food pipe. It helps relieve heartburn, supports healing of the oesophageal lining, and is also effective in treating peptic ulcer disease.

Pantop It Capsule 10 contains two active ingredients which work together to manage GERD and peptic ulcers:

• Itopride (150 mg): This prokinetic agent enhances the contractions of the stomach and intestines. This action accelerates gastric emptying and enhances gastrointestinal motility, enabling food and acid to pass more swiftly and easily out of the stomach. It achieves this by blocking dopamine D2 receptors and inhibiting acetylcholinesterase.
• Pantoprazole (40 mg): As a proton pump inhibitor, pantoprazole suppresses stomach acid secretion. It achieves this by irreversibly blocking the hydrogen/potassium adenosine triphosphatase enzyme system of the gastric parietal cells, responsible for the final step in acid production. By inhibiting this pump, pantoprazole effectively reduces the amount of acid produced by the stomach.
