It helps lower blood pressure and prevent angina attacks. Swallow it whole without crushing or chewing, in the dose, frequency and duration prescribed by your doctor. Avoid grapefruit and grapefruit juice while taking this medicine.
Reducing salt in your diet (including pickles, papad and packaged snacks), staying physically active, maintaining a healthy weight, avoiding smoking and limiting alcohol can support blood pressure control alongside this medicine.
Before starting, tell your doctor about any heart failure or liver problems, and about all other medicines, supplements or herbal products you take. Get up slowly to reduce dizziness. Report marked ankle swelling, a very fast heartbeat or worsening chest pain. Ask your doctor before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Follow the prescribed dose, frequency and duration, report persistent or serious side effects, and do not stop the medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
