Metrogyl 400 Tablet is used to treat and prevent a wide range of bacterial and parasitic infections. It is effective for dental issues, gum infections, post-surgical infections, stomach ulcers, amoebiasis, and infected wounds or sores. It also helps in conditions like diarrhoea, dysentery, and pelvic or genital infections.

Take Metrogyl 400 Tablet in the following way:

• Swallow the tablet whole with some food to ease digestion.
• Do not break, crush or chew the tablet.
• Continue taking this medicine for the full prescribed duration even if your symptoms improve earlier.
• Do not stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor first.

Metrogyl 400 Tablet is taken orally.

Metrogyl 400 Tablet contains the following components:

• Metronidazole (400 mg): Metronidazole exhibits antibacterial efficacy, particularly against most anaerobes. Once inside the microorganism via passive diffusion, it undergoes chemical reduction within the cytoplasm of susceptible anaerobes. The reduced form of metronidazole and the generated free radicals interact with microbial DNA, disrupting its synthesis and initiating degradation. These actions collectively contribute to the eventual destruction of the bacterial cells.

The storage instructions for Metrogyl 400 Tablet are as follows:

• This tablet should be stored at room temperature, at 25°C.
• Please protect it from light and moisture.
• Keep away from children.
• Do not use this medicine after the expiry date has passed.

• Maintain meticulous oral hygiene by brushing your teeth at least twice daily and flossing daily to remove plaque and prevent buildup along the gumline.
