Metrogyl 400 Tablet is used to treat bacterial and parasitic infections.

Uses of Metrogyl 400 Tablet are:

• Parasitic Infections: Treats amoebiasis and giardiasis.
• Dental and Gut Infections: Manages dental, gum and intestinal infections.
• Other Infections: Treats bacterial vaginosis and infected wounds.

Take Metrogyl 400 Tablet in the following way:

• Swallow the tablet whole with some food to ease digestion.
• Do not break, crush or chew the tablet.
• Continue taking this medicine for the full prescribed duration even if your symptoms improve earlier.
• Do not stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor first.

Metrogyl 400 Tablet contains the following components:

• Metronidazole (400 mg): Metronidazole exhibits antibacterial efficacy, particularly against most anaerobes. Once inside the microorganism via passive diffusion, it undergoes chemical reduction within the cytoplasm of susceptible anaerobes. The reduced form of metronidazole and the generated free radicals interact with microbial DNA, disrupting its synthesis and initiating degradation. These actions collectively contribute to the eventual destruction of the bacterial cells.

The storage instructions for Metrogyl 400 Tablet are as follows:

• This tablet should be stored at room temperature, at 25°C.
• Please protect it from light and moisture.
• Keep away from children.
• Do not use this medicine after the expiry date has passed.
