Monocef-O CV Tablet is a medicine used to treat bacterial infections of the throat, ears, sinuses, lungs, skin, and urinary tract. It combines cefixime and clavulanic acid for broad-spectrum coverage against many bacteria.
It contains cefixime, a cephalosporin antibiotic, and clavulanic acid, a beta-lactamase inhibitor. Take it as prescribed, with or without food, but completing the full course is important even if symptoms improve. Do not stop taking this medicine before completing the prescribed course, as incomplete treatment may allow the infection to return or lead to antibiotic resistance.
Good hygiene practices support recovery from infection. Maintain proper hand hygiene, cover your mouth when coughing or sneezing, keep wounds clean and dry, and avoid sharing personal items like towels or utensils with others to prevent spreading infection.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have kidney problems, a history of allergies or penicillin sensitivity, or are taking other medicines. Inform your doctor immediately if you develop a severe rash, difficulty breathing, or swelling of the face or throat. This medicine may be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding with medical guidance.
