Zocef-CV Tablet is used to treat various bacterial infections, including infections of the urinary tract, respiratory tract and certain sexually transmitted diseases. It is a combination antibiotic containing cefuroxime and clavulanic acid.
Cefuroxime works by preventing bacteria from forming their protective cell wall, while clavulanic acid stops certain bacterial enzymes from breaking down the antibiotic, helping it work even against resistant bacteria. Take it with food at a fixed time, in the dose and duration prescribed, and complete the full course even once you feel better.
Getting adequate rest and drinking plenty of fluids can help support your body's recovery during treatment.
Tell your doctor if you are allergic to cefuroxime, other cephalosporins, or penicillin antibiotics before starting. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy, or breastfeeding. If diarrhoea persists, or you notice blood in your stools, stop the medicine and consult your doctor.
