Brilinta Tablet is used to reduce the risk of heart attacks, strokes, and other cardiovascular events in adults with certain heart and blood vessel conditions. It prevents blood clots, improves blood flow, and helps keep the heart healthy, especially in people with acute coronary syndrome or a previous heart attack.

Here's how you should take Brilinta Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole with water.
• It can be taken with or without food.
• Do not crush or chew the tablet.
• If you struggle to swallow tablets whole, you may crush Brilinta Tablets, mix them with water, and drink immediately. Refill the glass with water, stir and drink to ensure you consume the entire dose.
• Always take this medicine as per your doctor's instructions.
• Don't stop taking this medication without first consulting your doctor.

Brilinta Tablet is taken orally.

Brilinta Tablet contains ticagrelor (90 mg), which acts on the body in the following ways:

• Inhibition of P2Y12 receptor: Ticagrelor works by reversibly binding to and inhibiting the P2Y12 receptor on platelets.
• Reduction in platelet aggregation: By inhibiting the P2Y12 receptor, ticagrelor prevents adenosine diphosphate (ADP) from activating platelets, thereby reducing their tendency to clump together or aggregate.
• Decrease in thrombus formation: The reduced aggregation of platelets results in less formation of thrombus or blood clots.
• Reduction in risk of cardiovascular events: By preventing thrombus formation, ticagrelor effectively reduces the risk of cardiovascular events such as heart attacks and strokes.

• Store your Brilinta Tablet at room temperature, ideally below 30°C.
• The medication should be kept away from excessive moisture, so avoid storing it in bathrooms or damp places.
• Keep the tablet out of reach of children to ensure their safety.
• Always remember to use the medicine before its expiry date.
