Brilinta 90 Tablet is used to help prevent blood clots in people with acute coronary syndrome (such as a heart attack or unstable angina) and after procedures such as angioplasty and stent placement. It lowers the risk of a further heart attack, stroke or blocked blood vessel.
It contains ticagrelor, an antiplatelet medicine of the P2Y12 inhibitor group. It works by stopping platelets sticking together to form clots. It is usually taken with low-dose aspirin as advised.
Take it exactly as prescribed, and do not stop it without speaking to your doctor, as stopping early raises the risk of a clot.
Tell your doctor about any bleeding problems, recent surgery, stomach ulcers, asthma or gout before starting. Report unusual or prolonged bleeding, black stools or sudden breathlessness.
