Ticagat Tablet 14

Ticagat Tablet 14 is used to prevent blood clots in people with heart and artery disease, and it helps lower the risk of a further heart attack or stroke.

Uses of Ticagat Tablet 14 are:

• Acute coronary syndrome: helps prevent clots after a heart attack or unstable angina.
• After stenting: helps protect blood flow after angioplasty and stent placement.
• Reduced risk: helps lower the risk of further heart attack, stroke and blocked blood vessels.

Follow these instructions while taking Ticagat Tablet 14:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Do not crush or chew the tablet unless specifically advised by your doctor.

• Take the tablet at the same time each day as prescribed.

• You can take this medicine with or without food.

• If you have trouble swallowing tablets, consult your doctor for advice.

Ticagat Tablet 14 is taken orally.

Ticagat Tablet 14 contains ticagrelor (90 mg), which works on the body as follows:

• Blocks P2Y12 receptors: Ticagrelor blocks specific receptors called P2Y12 on the surface of platelets, which are tiny blood cells involved in clotting.

• Inhibits platelet aggregation: By blocking these receptors, the medicine prevents platelets from sticking together, reducing the formation of harmful blood clots that could potentially block arteries.

• Helps maintain blood flow: This action helps maintain proper blood flow throughout your cardiovascular system, particularly through the arteries that supply blood to your heart and brain.

• Rapid antiplatelet effect: The medicine begins working within 30 minutes to 2 hours after you take it, providing relatively quick protection against unwanted blood clot formation.

• Store Ticagat Tablet 14 at room temperature below 30°C.

• Keep the tablets in their original packaging in a cool, dry place.

• Protect from moisture, heat, and direct sunlight.

• Keep out of reach of children.

• Check the expiry date regularly, and do not use it after this date.

• Consider a heart-healthy diet low in saturated fats and rich in fruits, vegetables, and whole grains to support your cardiovascular health and complement the antiplatelet (blood-thinning) effects of Ticagat Tablet 14.

• Limit sodium (salt) intake to help reduce the risk of blood clots and improve cardiovascular health.
