Brigrel Tablet 10

Brigrel Tablet is used in adults with acute coronary syndrome, coronary artery disease, or a history of stroke to prevent harmful blood clots and reduce cardiovascular risk.

Uses of Brigrel Tablet are:

• Acute Coronary Syndrome: Decreases the risk of cardiovascular death, heart attack, and stroke in patients with acute coronary syndrome.
• Coronary Artery Disease Support: Manages complications in people with coronary artery disease prone to heart attack or stroke, such as those with type 2 diabetes.
• Stroke Risk Reduction: Reduces risk in patients who have had a stroke or transient ischaemic attack (mini-stroke).
• Coronary Stent Support: Supports patients who have undergone a coronary stent implant.

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Do not crush or chew the tablet.

• Take the medicine approximately 12 hours apart, with or without food.

• It is crucial not to stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor first.

Brigrel Tablet is taken orally.

Brigrel Tablet contains ticagrelor (90 mg), which impacts your body in the following ways:

• Blocks P2Y12 Receptor: Ticagrelor works by blocking the P2Y12 receptor located on platelets in your blood. This action interrupts the ability of platelets to stick together.

• Reduces Blood Clot Formation: By blocking the P2Y12 receptor on platelets, ticagrelor effectively reduces the formation of blood clots that could potentially obstruct blood vessels.

• Enhances Blood Flow: By inhibiting clot formation, ticagrelor contributes to more fluid flow of blood through the vessels, thus reducing the risk of serious cardiovascular events like a heart attack or stroke.

• Store Brigrel Tablet at a normal room temperature of 20°C to 25°C.

• Keep the medicine in its original, tightly closed container.

• Avoid exposure to excessive moisture or heat.

• Always keep this medicine out of the reach of children.

• Ensure you use Brigrel Tablet before its expiry date.

• If you have been prescribed Brigrel Tablet due to heart conditions, consider adopting a heart-healthy diet. This can include whole grains, lean proteins, fruits, vegetables, and low-fat dairy products while limiting saturated fats and sodium.

• Physical activity plays a crucial role in managing cardiovascular health. With your doctor's approval, aim for at least 30 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise on most days of the week.
